- The 1999 hit movie The Mummy was pretty much the inspiration for The Resurrection. Older copies of the movie show that. It first started out as the third story to be written from the series that inspired Fifth Voyager in the first place. That story was well written and it obviously was suppose to be as faraway from The Mummy's storyline as possible. Once Season 2 episode listings were being made up The Resurrection crept it's way into Fifth Voyager itself. After a couple of attempts to write out this 'episode' it was eventually decided that this should be the actual movie of the series. Originally the episode The Slayers was going to be the movie but The Resurrection was more movie material than The Slayers could ever be. After months of planning The Resurrection finally hit the net on the 2nd October 2001..
